The original title in Spanish “Influjo” means literally “influence” in English. However, the meaning intended in this piece could be better described by the term “under the spell.”

The piece has 2 clearly different parts. In the first one, fierce passages with a dominating melody in octaves and sudden stops, repeating with slight variations, back and force, like jolts of energy that keeps the audience immersed in a powerful and unsettling state. After a wide glissando that ranges the full extension of the keyboard, the spell is finally cast and the music suddenly adopts a haunting quality that brings us to a magical and evocative world.
