Born in Spain and resident of Los Angeles, Juan J. Colomer has
worked with such personalities as James Levine, Plácido Domingo,
Christian Lindberg, José Carreras, and orchestras like the Vienna
Symphony, Simón Bolivar Youth Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestra & Chorus of the Arena di
Verona, Orchestra of Palau de les Arts among many others. His works may
be heard on Deutsche Grammophon, Sony Classical or Decca.
He collaborates
regularly with Spanish Brass for whom he has written many pieces including “La
Devota Lasciva (The Lascivious Devout)” for Quintet & Orchestra.
In 2008 the Album “Spanish Passion” by Plácido Domingo with orchestrations
by Mr. Colomer won a Latin Grammy for Best Classical Album.
Juanjo Colomer is one of the most dynamic figures in the contemporary music
scene.
