Composer Juan J. Colomer is a dynamic and versatile artist amassing performances throughout the world. Born in Spain and a resident of Los Angeles, Colomer has worked with such artists as James Levine, Plácido Domingo, Christian Lindberg and José Carreras.
His music has been performed by the Vienna Symphony, Simón Bolivar Youth Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestra & Chorus of the Arena di Verona and Orchestra of Palau de les Arts, among others. He collaborates regularly with Spanish Brass for whom he has written many pieces including “La Devota Lasciva (The Lascivious Devout)” for quintet & orchestra.
In 2008, the CD “Spanish Passion” by Plácido Domingo, featuring orchestrations by Colomer, won a Latin Grammy for Best Classical Album. His works are featured on Deutsche Grammophone, Sony Classical and Decca.
